Make sure you have cover in case of rain. When you’re out in the woods, a rainstorm can be wet, cold and uncomfortable. Make sure you have some kind of protection against the rain, whether it be a tent, cabin or lean-to. In a pinch, you can use a garbage bag as a poncho! You will need protection for any camera you are carrying too.
Try different heights for taking photographs. For instance, if you are photographing your own small children, you do not want to get a photo of the top of their heads. Squatting down so you are level with their eyes is going to get you much better results. It’s very easy to do, but makes a huge difference in the quality of your pictures.
